Bare Minerals 2

I’ve been a bareMinerals fan for a VERY long time. In fact, it’s the first makeup I ever bought after begging my mom for the infomercial kit I would obsessively watch every time it came on tv. True story. I don’t wear bareMinerals all the time (usually only in the summer) but it is a brand that I return to time and time again.

bareMinerals has exploded since their inception and now carried far more than their staple face kit product(s). In recent years, they’ve even moved away from their cornerstone claim that mineral makeup is the best for your skin and they now offer pressed mineral and liquid makeup. It makes me a little sad/unhappy that they’ve moved away from their base “brand,” but they’ll figure it out eventually.

Some of my favorites include:

Original Foundation – Such a staple. You can use it lightly or more heavily and it can basically handle anything (i.e. my rosacea). I also love wearing this in the summer because it magically stays on my face even when I’m sweating everything else off. It’s legit.

bareMinerals Blush & Bronzer – I love these full-face add-ons to the loose powder foundation although I do find them a bit harder to use. A loose foundation is easy to blush, but I’m always concerned about using too much of the blush and bronzer. They are very pigmented and will last you forever. Truly. I’ve only repurchased the bronzer “Warmth” once and I’ve been using this makeup since I was 13 years old. (That sounds gross but IΒ promise it’s not.)

ReadyΒ Foundation – This pressed compact is much more convenient and purse-friendly than the loose, original version. It’s also a bit heavier coverage, in my opinion.

Ready Blush – These pressed blushes are nothing to write home about but a nice offering if you want to stay within the bareMinerals range.

Ready Eyeshadow – Now, these pressed eyeshadows ARE something to write home about. The shades, pigmentation and lasting power are all amazing. The pictured quad (The Truth) is one of my absolute favorites. I also have The Dream Sequence and it’s equally if not more so amazing. LOVE THEM. If you were to only try one product in the bareMinerals range, I would suggest these eyeshadows because they will surely have you coming back to bareMinerals for more.

Prime Time – Another great offering is this liquid primer that comes in many different “finishes.” The luminous one is especially lovely and truly gives you that “lit from within” glow.

Bare Minerals

I’m such a bareMinerals fan and it’s unfortunate that the brand does not get more recognition (from the beauty community or even here on this blog). It’s probably because I view the brand as such a staple in my collection and not necessarily a luxury or special occasion beauty brand.Β I’ll work on changing that – pronto.

  1. I agree so much with all of this! I actually have on their foundation today. It’s my go-to for days I need a quick coverage or it’s so hot outside I don’t want to wear the traditional liquid foundation. It offers fabulous coverage and works great for so many different people with all sorts of skin types! Also, I love the Mineral Veil and the eyeshadows are the bomb.com! They are so creamy, pigmented and the shades available are amazing!!

  2. I love Bare Minerals! It was the very first makeup I used, too! The original foundation is my favorite. I haven’t really tried much else, but I have been wanting to try out the eyeshadows and blushes! πŸ™‚
