Full-coverage, Bulletproof Foundation Routine

Full-coverage, Bulletproof Foundation Routine

I’ve found the most magical foundation routine ever.

Seriously, this is a bulletproof, long-lasting face combination that will stay on all day/night long. I’ve worn this for all the fancy events I’ve attended over the past few months and it is been absolute perfection. It is a full-coverage look (which I know isn’t for everyone) but it’s flawless. Just trust me. *pats back*

I start with the water-based yet glue-like Make Up Forever HD Primer all over the face and quickly follow with the magical powers of Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. It’s a thick and full-coverage foundation that will cover anything and stay on ALL DAY LONG. Next, for highlighting and brightening, I pop the NYX HD Concealer under my eyes and on any “spots.” To seal it all in I use the loose Bare Minerals Mineral Veil or the pressed Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation. I love both and even use the Jane Iredale powder as my foundation on lighter coverage days. Finally, to fully keep my face on for an entire day/night, I’ll spray a coating of the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

I know this seems like a lot of steps but each and every one of these five products is part of the perfect bulletproof foundation routine. If you’ve ever experienced your makeup sliding down your face while dying of heat at a wedding shower, you know the pain I felt and would do anything to prevent it in the future. So embarrassing.

What’s your bulletproof foundation routine and your all-star products?  How many steps is too many for you? Let me know in the comments!

  1. “I start with the water-based yet glue-like Make Up Forever HD Primer…” LOL at the description!

I only use the UD Makeup Setting Spray, as it seems to make whatever makeup I am wearing last all day (yay!). I like my base makeup to look as natural as possible, so not sure I could take on all of the heavy duty products mentioned!

    • It really is kinda like glue! Like a watered down Elmers – LOL!

I feel ya about the natural look. If I didn’t have acne and rosacea, I would be there right along with ya, but I have some major issues to cover up 🙂 This routine is definitely not for the faint of heart!

  2. I just got Urban Decay Deslick Makeup setting spray, I have been experimenting on using it before vs. after powder. Why do you like to use it after powder, I would love to hear your thoughts?
