NARS

Nars 1 I honestly never thought about how much I love Nars until I read this recent post from Tamira discussing her top three high end beauty brands – Chanel, Jouer and Nars. I only have an eyeshadow quad (that I’m not really in love with) from Chanel and I don’t own any Jouer products (nor do I really care to).

That left Nars.

I began evaluating all of the Nars products I own and soon realized that I love them all. Truly, Nars is a fabulous brand. The packaging, although prone to fingerprints, is classic and sleek. The price point is a bit higher, but I would still consider this a mid-range line price wise. The best thing about Nars? Their naming conventions. I don’t know the exact formula, but they use a combination of names, places and bedroom *ahem* activities. Loves it.

Nars 2

Clockwise from left: Orgasm Blush & Laguna Bronzer Duo // Sheer Glow Foundation in Siberia // Danmari All About Cheeks Palette // Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Never Say Never, Palmpol, Damned, Sex Machine and Cruella // mini Laguna Bronzer // Bali Eyeshadow // mini Copacabana Illuminator // Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder

I haven’t tried everything in their line, but what I have, I quite like love. If I could only recommend one product to you, it would be the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. Just trust me; they’re amazing. Cruella is the baddest bitch in town and will quickly become your best friend. I also really, really love the recently purchased Radiant Creamy Concealer (once I figured out how to use it – ha), but sadly forgot to photograph it! As for things I haven’t tried (but am dying to do so), I’m currently lusting after their gorgeous eyeshadow duos and the ever sought-after Ita contouring brush.

Nars is so cutting edge  and constantly coming out with new products so you can stay on trend. If you have not tried Nars, definitely give the brand a whirl.

What are your favorite Nars products? Do you love those lip pencils are much as I do?

  1. I haven’t used the lip pencil from NARS , although the glosses I own can be substituted with less pricey brands for the same quality. I am dying to try their blush though .. Literally dying !

    • Everything is just beautiful. Truly. I’m not a big fan of the glosses… When I had a few years and years ago, the smell was just awful. Although I know they recently reformulated, so maybe they’re not so smelly anymore?

      • The smell was quite ok, but it did feel like any ordinary lip gloss. For the same price range the Duor Addict Fluid Stick is truly worth buying. The NARS is like a pricier Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss. Both have no staying powder and only look pretty in the bottle 😕

  2. The other great thing about Nars is some (but not all) of their products are gluten and soy free. Sounds weird, but for some people, it’s a necessity. (Orgasm is safe. 😉 )

  3. Okayyyy yes yes yes. This came at the perfect time because now I can discuss their newly revamped formulas with you. The polish? Holy bend me over I cannot wait to get my greedy little hands on them! Quick dry and no chip? Be still my palpitating heart. And velvet matte all day long, I can’t say it better. That is a life long loyal as shit friendship.

I got one polish a few months ago when it was on sale at Sephora, and slap me please that I still have not tried it out…! I read your post and love those new colors!

  4. I LOVE NARS! Their place-specific names are my faves, though. 🙂 My favorites from NARS are the Sheer Glow, the concealer, the VMLP, the blushes, eyeshadows, and the PURE MATTE LIPSTICK RANGE, which I don’t think people pay enough attention to! Srsly, if you love reds that are POW—try Vesuvio or Mascate! AHHHH. ❤
