(Nail) Polish Porn: Deborah Lippmann “Before He Cheats”

Deborah Lippmann Before He Cheats

I’m slowly but surely making my way through the Deborah Lippmann polishes I ordered on the cheap a few months ago. Quite honestly, I didn’t have high hopes for this nude polish after the serious letdown of the blue, sparkly polish I tried earlier this year. Thankfully, this polish worked out much better…

Although it looks like a sheer, light beige in the bottle, it turned out more of an opaque pink on my nails. I think I may have used an (overpriced) pink-colored base coat that altered the shade of this slightly, but I quite like the results. This was a two-coater and with a top coat it lasted a few days without chipping. The pictures above are without flash or editing.

Overall, it’s a nice shade. Probably one of my favorite neutral, work shades. I ADORE the Deborah Lippmann bottles (so chic), but I’m not sure they’re worth the price tag… I’m still making my way through the kit I got for Christmas and, yes, there was one amazing winner (hello, NYE!), but I’m still on the fence about the line as a whole.

What are you favorite nail polish shades for work? Do you prefer neutrals like me or can you wear anything at work?

Have you ever paid a ridiculous amount of money for nail polish? Was it worth it?

How do you feel about the Deborah Lippmann line?

  1. I tried the DL in sephora and hated it right away. The formula was too thin and needed layers of application .. I never liked em .. The most I paid was the Dior Sailor nail set I bought for $30, it was not worth $30 but I loved the buy and that kinda justifies it for me 😕

  2. I actually really like the shade although I’ve never tried a Deborah Lippmann polish so I wouldn’t know what to expect in terms of quality. Still, I like this shade very much – It’s really pretty 🙂
