The Perfect (Eyeshadow) Palette Tag

I’ve seen this tag floating around YouTube and the beauty blogging community for a while and decided to join in on the fun. This is by far one of the best beauty tags I’ve seen in quite a while! Check out some of my favorite eyeshadow palettes below:

Perfect Palette Tag Questions:

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette
1. Best Packaging – Urban Decay Naked 1

I think I may be in the minority group who actually likes the packaging from Naked 1 better than Naked 2 or Naked 3 palettes. I love the velvet outside with the simple flap – I think it’s very chic. It’s beyond sturdy and I’m never worried about the top breaking off like I sometimes am with Naked 2/3. I sorta wish they switched up the packaging up for each palette rather than repeating the Naked 2 tin on Naked 3.

Urban Decay Smoked Eyeshadow Palette

2. Best Color Payoff – Urban Decay Smoked

AHHH… I love this palette so, so much. The color payoff is ridiculous and I love the mixture of jewel tones with neutral shades as well. Each shade is buttery smooth with just the tap of a brush able to pack on color. I honestly think I could make any look I wanted just from this palette. A very under-rated eyeshadow palette and one of my absolute favorites. Plus with a brown named “Backdoor” you just can’t go wrong – haha!

Stila In The Light Eyeshadow Palette

3. Most Versatile – Stila in the Light

Also one of my favorite palettes and definitely the most versatile. For many people, I think this could easily replace the Naked 1 palette, but I’m an eyeshadow hoarder so I have and love them both. Stila’s pigmentation is ridiculous, plus with the inclusion of the famed Kitten shade this combination is just perfect. Although In the Light is very neutral, you really can make quite a few smokey, simple, and dramatic looks with just this one beautiful palette. Gorge.

Lorac Pro To Go Eyeshadow Palette

4. Best for Traveling – Lorac Pro To Go

I keep this bad boy permanently in my travel makeup bag because it is such a multitasker. With six nicely pigmented and neutral shades, two blushes, and a bronzer this palette saves quite a bit of space in my bag. With the white/light and black eyeshadow it could even be used for eyeliner and highlighter too. Of course most palettes are travel friendly, but this one has more “features” than any other one I own.

Sigma Paris Eyeshadow Palette

5. Biggest Regret – Sigma Paris

UGH. I hate this palette. I thought this would be a good travel option, but considering it’s HUGE and THICK (that’s what she said) it is a terrible travel option. Plus, most of the shades are ridiculously shimmery and I really only like the two taupe shades on the right side. Furthermore, I’m pretty upset with Sigma as a company because their prices are ridiculous and the quality is not nearly up to par with what they are charging (I have similar feelings about Em Cosmetics, nudge nudge wink wink). I’m also annoyed with the significant (and phony) vlogger and blogger backing that they have just so people can get their commission off of pushing products. Sorry, rant over. I definitely regret this purchase and will not purchase from Sigma ever again.

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Eyeshadow Palette

6. Best Color Names – Too Faced Boudoir Eyes

With names like Lap Dance, Fuzzy Handcuffs, Garter Belt, Birthday Suit, and Satin Sheets how could anything but this sexy palette win?!

The Balm Nude'Tude Eyeshadow Palette

7. Least Used –  The Balm Nude’tude

I think the concept of this palette is so cute, but unfortunately the shades are a bit too shimmery for me. The shades are also extremely pigmented which is usually a good thing, but I the few times I used this I always got too much product which would create a blending nightmare. I know this is a beloved palette in the beauty community, but unfortunately it’s just not for me.

Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

8. Most Used, Most Loved, Desert Island – Urban Decay Naked 2

This was an extremely hard choice between Naked 1 and Naked 2, but ultimately the taupe centered shades of Naked 2 won out. I find myself reaching for this palette all the time and truly get great use out of all the shadows (except for chunky Chopper). I also like the slighty cooler shades for my skin tone. I absolutely love this palette and would recommend it to anyone, especially those in a serious relationship with Taupe 🙂

Laura Mercier Artist Palette 2

Honorable Mention – Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette 2

I have to throw this one in as an honorable mention. I just received this beauty for Christmas and am already in love. It’s far too soon to pick a category for it, but I can tell you that I love the compact packaging, the color payoff is ridiculous, and the shades are possibly the most buttery soft I’ve ever felt. If you can still get your hands on it, I would highly recommend picking it up.

Link your posts below if you’ve done this tag too! I love reading these tags and discovering new eyeshadow palettes based off recommendations.

    • I’m just over them as a company. They’re trying to play with the big boys and act like their products are of the same quality and caliber when they’re clearly not. I would rather own drugstore price, professional quality Real Techniques any day over Sigma. Okay, rant truly over.

  1. Great Post! I’ve been wanting to do this tag for a while- I need to get on it! Also, I’m glad to hear your opinion about Sigma, I am now glad I didn’t order anything from them. I am skeptical of any company like that that lots of youtubers and bloggers push. & I really, really want that Stila in the Light Palette!! So gorgeous!

    • Yeah, I may be in the minority (or maybe just one of the few outspoken ones) on the Sigma subject. I’m not really into any company that makes you pay for shipping. Ridiculous. The Stila palette is absolutely gorgeous. Worth every penny especially for Kitten which is one of my favorites (I even have it as a single)!

I can’t wait for your post!
