I reached for this palette constantly throughout the year. I love everything about this palette (and all the Naked palettes for that matter) and these taupe hues are perfect for me.
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
By far, my best beauty purchase of the year. Best eyelash curler ever. I cannot say enough good things about it.
Jane Iredale BB Cream
I finally found a foundation (or BB cream, whatever) that is my shade – score for the pale girl! Plus the coverage is awesome and it has SPF. Pssh, let’s be real. The formula could be crap and I would love this because nothing matches my glow-in-the-dark skin.
Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Stick
A fantastic, thick formula and a great shade match for me. This has really helped cover my – uhhum – problem areas. I think I found my “holy grail” concealer 🙂
Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow & MAC’s Taupe Shape
Oh my goodness. I may take back the earlier comment about my eyelash curler being the best purchase of the year and hand the title to these bad boys. Both of these products have become my contouring saviors for my pale, pale skin. Seriously amazing. I can’t even pick just one of them to be in this list because they both deserve the MVP title. I don’t know how I lived life before them (yes, I do; that was beyond dramatic, sorry).
Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara
Again, best mascara ever. Keeps my lashes lifted and lengthened all day long.
YBF Eyebrow Pencil
I received this universal eyebrow pencil in one of my many beauty subscription boxes and have used this nearly the entire year. I’m pretty sure the shade is a “universal color” which I used to think was complete crap, but this time it worked perfectly. I love the spooley, shade, and product formula so much that I will absolutely fork out the money for it again.
NARS Lip Pencil in Sex Machine
This shade is the perfect pink shade for any occasion. I rarely wear lip products, but I reached for this all the time. I think this would be a great “interview lip” for those job hunters out there.
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Mushroom
Taupe eyeshadow and I are in a pretty serious relationship, so when taupe eyeliner came along… well, we just made it a polyamorous thing. I don’t know why I never considered taupe for an eyeliner, but it is so effortless to apply without worrying about the liner being just perfect. Loves it.
Real Techniques Brushes
I’m not sure how to put into words my love for Real Techniques brushes. They’re pretty, priced right, never shed, easy to clean, and accessible – how much better can you get?! If I could only have one brand of brushes for the rest of my life, it would hands down be Real Techniques. Bravo, Samantha Chapman, bravo.
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
I discovered this “hairspray for your face” this year and it’s a miracle! I’m not a touch-up your makeup during the day kinda girl, so this spray has become my lifesaver. A few sprays all over my face in the morning before work and when I get home after school at night my makeup is still intact.
Tarte SmolderEyes Eyeliner
I don’t know how in the world I got this eyeliner (probably in a kit or subscription beauty box of sorts), but I am in love. I thought the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners were the shiz, but I stand corrected. This liner is so smooth and creamy with an amazing color payoff that I can not even handle it. Plus there’s a smudge tip on the pencil and I just adore that. If I ever run out of eyeliner (HA), I will purchase a million of these. SOOOOO GOOD.
