The other night, my friend Amy and I met up for dinner before seeing “Don Jon.” Let’s pause on this for a moment to discuss something. SPOILER ALERT – I was totally not expecting a cougar relationship between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Julianne Moore. Whoa. It was weird. Great message though (…if you’re addicted to porn and incapable of real relationships). I digress.

Anyways, when Amy greeted me the first words out of her mouth were, “are you wearing false lashes?” No, I was not, but that was the BEST COMPLIMENT EVER!!!
This was taken very late after the movie. I had to have photographic evidence of the magic.
I honestly have about 4 eyelashes, so to actually get a compliment on one of my biggest insecurities was amazing.
I owe all the glory to my magical combo – the Shu Uemura eyelash curler and Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. I was hesitant about the higher price tags on each of these items for a very long time, but now that I see the light (and the results), I will never go back.
The eyelash curler keeps my lashes lifted ALL DAY and the mascara manages to lengthen and give some volume while holding the curl. Truly amazing products and when paired together? Ahhh, perfection.
Love. Love. Love.
To make these items a bit more budget friendly, here are a few tips:
1. For Shu Uemura, subscribe to their emails and be on the lookout for great deals / coupon codes. I only ordered my eyelash curler when I could get a great free sample as well as 20% off my order AND free shipping. Talk about a steal. I’m even thinking of ordering another eyelash curler to keep in my travel bag I love it so much:).
2. For Benefit’s mascara, Sephora (maybe Ulta too?) has a great deal for a full size and mini size They’re Real for the price of one. The mini size is great for travel… or anytime because this mascara is just so amazing. Plus this extra little deal helps me justify spending $23 (yikes) on a mascara. Sometimes, you just need to play mind games with yourself.
Everyone should believe all the hype on both of these products; it’s all completely true.
Have you tried either of these? Are they miracle workers for you too?
